THE CHALLENGES
The initial issue arose around the data received from Altech’s reps, who sell their products. Altech were unable to see trends in the data they collected and managed in several spreadsheets. Data was siloed into monthly folders on a server with no analysis capability, trend information, or comparisons. Analysing this data became vital to see if the business is increasing, decreasing, dormant, not buying – the list of requirements to analyse their data was endless. Visibility into this key data will transform decision-making and sales training of those Reps to better distribute their products.
Altech’s CEO, Buddy Finnie, asked us to assist them in organising the various data sources into cohesive information. Together, we created the Buddy BI tool to transform data from multiple segregated sources into a visual dashboard that easily identifies trends and issues within the company.
THE SOLUTION
We proposed a solution that would take feeds of the data that has been historically provided, utilising Buddy BI to parse it into various graphical representations so that visual understanding is immediate. This allowed Altech to see a myriad of information, including sales in the U.S. by state, product, Rep, client, and all of these by month and year.
All graphs in the BuddyBI dashboard are interconnected, so when you select a Rep, you then see all the other graphs change according to this new criteria, and you see the content attributed to them across the dashboard. Filters are also heavily utilised in the solution to easily customise the output to the need at hand.
THE RESULTS
Buddy BI allows Altech to see months and years worth of data consolidated into multiple graphs and charts, which brings the data to life. In the past, the data was separate, in tens of sheets for each month in separate folders, with no way to see it all together.
Altech can now see trends, drop-offs offs or pick-ups of product lines, but ultimately the reasons they chose us is:

– We set up the Buddy BI tool for Altech
– We uploaded the data and will continue to manage this solution for the life of the relationship.
For a business that hasn’t had a BI solution, it can be a daunting task, so having a partner to take care of all of this has been pivotal for Altech Corp by giving them greater information and insight in one place.

Before working with BuddyCRM, we had years of third-party sales data coming in from partners across the U.S., but no effective way to consolidate it or make sense of the bigger picture. That all changed when we implemented their Business Intelligence tool. Now, we can easily track where our products are being sold, by state, by company, and even down to the end user, all through a fully interactive, visual dashboard.
MEASURABLE IMPACT
Efficiency around reviewing Rep performance over years has increased 100-fold. There was no real way to do it before, and the fact that it's now possible has shed light on an area of the business that was completely in the dark. Decision making has been better and human error has all but been eliminated from the Altech > Rep reporting process.
Altech have also been able to understand relationships that they had no understanding of. For example, they identified many gaps where certain parts were not being sold in certain territories, allowing them to maximise sales opportunities.
